Honey, I Blew Up the Kid plot

"The BIG Laughs Start January 6th!"

Three years after shrinking and then enlarging his children in an electromagnetic experiment, eccentric inventor Wayne is still looking for recognition. Although he now works for the prestigious Sterling lab, he is considered by his boss to be a scientific genius of stature. Wayne's latest project is quite the opposite of his shrinking machine: a magnifying laser beam that causes molecules to expand dozens of times. Unfortunately, Wayne's three-year-old son accidentally walks through the radiation machine.

This sequel was very disappointing.

The story is not well developed at all and doesn't really convince or even captivate. There's no doubt you can do some cool things with a giant baby, but apparently the creators haven't experienced that. You're just looking at a big kid picking things up and destroying them. What the hell is fun about that? It gets very annoying very quickly.

In the first film, a few things were also enlarged, so it feels quite unnecessary here. Like some kind of useless extension.

The effects are too ugly for words. Everything looked terribly fake, as if the child was just projected onto the screen. Proportions were played a few times, but that too looked fake in most cases. Think of that yellow convertible he's lifting. Obviously a toy car.

Where in the first part they still made an effort to create the most beautiful world possible, there is nothing to notice here. The creative aspect is hard to find.

Acting is bad. Especially the eldest son does little or nothing of it, just like Wayne's boss. What a totally unbelievable role. dr. Hendrickson, as he is called, is allowed to ride in an army helicopter to shoot a narcotic syringe in that child's neck.

There is in fact nothing positive to say about it. I couldn't find anything that pleased, surprised or surprised me. I just wanted it all to end as soon as possible. Pretty pathetic display.

Well, a lot less than the first part. By the way, never seen this film, unlike part 1. Not unjustly as it turns out, because this is a very bland decoction. Even Amy is no longer in the film at the beginning. A film that rehashes the same plots as its predecessor with its corny romantic issues, the panic, the fainting and the humor. All not very innovative.

Moreover, the giant toddler is simply not funny and the film as a whole can even be called bad. Much less effort was put into the film and the creations were too limited. And we can't warm up to the acting either. The children liked it, they are children of course. They don't really look at the (terrible) plot or anything.

Big disappointment, expected better after the decent 1st part.

Mediocre film in which an inventor has his toddler enlarged enormously this time. The title completely covers the load and as a sequel it is quite nice in itself. But unfortunately it doesn't work as well. Mainly because a 2-year-old as the main character has very little to contribute. It's also a lot less adventurous. The special effects are still fine during the first half (the perspective is amusingly played here). Furthermore, this film marked the debut for Keri Russell.
