Night after Night after Night plot

"The ripper is waiting..."

A serial killer keeps Inspector Rowan (Gilbert Wynne) busy at night. After being randomly picked in a police lineup, Pete Laver (Donald Sumpter) acts arrogant and contemptuous towards Rowan, even making a rude comment about Rowan's wife Jenny. When Pete is later released due to insufficient evidence, Jenny is murdered moments later. Boiling with rage, Rowan chases Pete, waiting for him to make a mistake. But when another murder is committed and Pete has an alibi, it turns out that someone else is committing the murders.
