Arven plot
Christoffer Borch-Moeller belongs to the fourth generation of a wealthy Danish family that owns one of the largest steel mills in the country. He lives in Stockholm with his wife Maria - a Swedish actress - where he owns a restaurant. When his father unexpectedly commits suicide, his mother wants him to return to run the family business. He accepts it hesitantly, much to Maria's will, and to the great surprise of his eldest sister's husband, who aspired to the position himself. As director, Christoffer is forced to take drastic measures in an attempt to save the factory from bankruptcy, resulting in serious disagreements with his wife and the rest of his family. His choices have major emotional and personal consequences, which ultimately means that his legacy comes with a very high price tag. This is the second film in a trilogy that analyzes the Danish class system.
