Very disappointing movie. The cast is nice, but the film doesn't run at all.
Mediocre.

A soft, but above all sweet film!
It often happens in romantic movies.. You see it so often.. The woman (sometimes the man) experiences something and then leaves/flees to her hometown. And of course she falls in love again. With the necessary complications.
Sandra Bullock. An incredibly strong actress who above all radiates that she has her own opinion and stands up for it. I respect that enormously. I've seen a lot of Bullock movies.
Also Harry Connick Jr. wasn't bad. You see him in many movies, but you never know exactly how to tell his name. At least that's the case with me. A nice man, who comes across as convincing.
And then Gena Rowlands.. Well what can I say about that? Beautiful, talented woman who often has sharp roles.
So yes, the acting is great! Nothing to complain about.
No sex in this movie, and if I remember correctly not even a kiss.. You wait for it, but they change screen every time it starts coming.. It's a good movie, but very fun to watch to look! A film where I don't have to worry that my daughter will see a scene that she doesn't have to see.
It reminded me a bit of Sleeping with the enemy. And of course I'm not talking about the fact that she has an abusive husband, because that's definitely not the case here. But during the movie, while moving, I couldn't get Sleeping with the Enemy out of my head.
3.5*
