Battle of Britain plot
In May 1940, Hitler quickly conquered Western Europe, forcing the British troops at Dunkirk to withdraw. Leaving a chaos of material on the beaches. In England Sir Hugh Dowding advises Prime Minister Winston Churchill not to send any more planes and troops to France, partly because the losses are too great. The German Baron von Richter advises the English consul Sir David Kelly in Switzerland that England should surrender. But there is no thinking about that. Then follows a period of relative calm, a time England uses to bring the RAF (Royal Air Force) back up to strength with new recruits. The German Reichsmarschall Hermann Goering is convinced that the English are no match for the superior Luftwaffe, especially if they can eliminate the RAF on the ground.
