Le Père Noël Est une Ordure (1982)

Anarchistically busy is perhaps a better description of this comedy with few pauses for breath. Not only because of the name-calling, the slurring and the politically incorrect jokes, but also because of a variety of events that keep the famous snowball effect alive. And I like that.

Not always 100% followable (still a lack of very good knowledge of the French language), and Marie-Anne Chazel as the pregnant Zézette with fake teeth goes off the rails here and there, which is accompanied by the necessary irritations.

High revision value once my French is up to par again.

What seemed like a quiet evening at a helpline service turned into an over-excited affair.
Crazy French comedy with crazy situations and very successful, comic and witty dialogues.
There is also a sinister side to it because not all people are well-intentioned during this Christmas period. Cutting up a corpse is something you see more often in crime or horror films, but wrapping the pieces in gift paper and then offering them to the carnivores in the zoo is "du jamais vu".
A colourful film with a colourful group where laughter is never far away. Convincing caricature performances, the best of which is that of Christian Clavier as Katia (!)
The film is also somewhat socially critical, see for example the waiting tone when the police are called and that is also funny.

Mediocre film in which a few colleagues have a busy shift at a telephone helpline. This farce takes place on Christmas Eve and is therefore also a bit of an alternative Christmas film. However, it was all presented too chaotically for me and that also applies to the characters. The scenes with the elevator and the corpse are fun.
