Le Pays des Sourds plot
Documentary that gives the viewer a glimpse into deaf culture. Philibert followed the daily life of ordinary people such as a couple getting married and having a party, a class of students in deaf education, a family with five generations of deaf people and a group of young American tourists. He "rewrote" the material he collected over 8 months into a narrative story in long editing sessions.
