Jarod is a pretender: a genius whose extraordinary intelligence allows him to learn any profession at a rapid pace. He uses this gift to help those in need, but is chased by agents of the secret government organization The Centre. They kidnapped Jarod in the early 1960s and used him as a guinea pig for numerous psychological experiments. A few years ago, Jarod managed to escape, but since then he has not had a second of peace.
