Plot-wise, it's not very interesting. Yet there is a strange atmosphere that really appealed to me. Mythical groups of cats and ravens with occult pursuits; I found it very fascinating. Great music too...

Agent of the Amsterdam vice police Piet van der Valk was the main character in 9 books by Nicholas Freeling. Rademakers apparently thought it would be a good idea to adapt the second book in the series and have the screenplay written by Hugo Claus, but the result is not worth seeing. A poorly lit piece of work without any tension building, but with a lot of nudity and a terrible soundtrack that someone probably whispered to Rademakers that it would be 'hip'. Van der Valk [Bryan Marshall] investigates the gang rape of a 40-year-old woman [Delis Lindsay]. The trail leads to Bloemendaal, where Van der Valk tries to extract a confession from a group of young people who are part of some kind of cult.
