Well I was fucking hoping for 'White Rabbit' by Jefferson Airplaine. Grace Slick is one of my greatest heroines ever. Happy to see her in this documentary of course, along with the other members. But to see a director's cut of almost 4 hours and not get to hear / see certain songs (including this one) is a bit of a shame. But this 'Woodstock' has more to offer.

Well, Woodstock. This is the event I wish I could have witnessed. Ever since I was a little kid, I've been crazy about music. I love the 60s (70s and 80s too by the way) and the atmosphere of an event like this is priceless. Free as a bird, that's how I had felt there. Swimming naked and washing in a lake, having a drink, smoking, getting high and tripping to all the beautiful music and scenery. Because what a beautiful face. All those people, the stage, sun, rain, mud… it doesn't matter. All people enjoy. Or at least try to. As far as they can.

Young one, please throw me back in time on that meadow. Give me a pack of butts, a bottle of whiskey and performances by Crosby, Stills & Nash, Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, The Who, CCR, Grateful Dead etc. and I wouldn't have cared that I'd already been a grandpa. I had been enjoying 'Woodstock'. But unfortunately. It did not help. Fortunately, we have the beautiful, atmospheric images that can take me back in time, so that I can still enjoy this greatest event. Splendid.

Yes, despite the DC's long running time, I enjoyed it. Every now and then it goes on a bit too long, but I had a little bit of the feeling that I had been part of it. Finally seen this picture. The playing time has held me back for years. What a weekend alone at home is not good for.
