Towards the end it is a bit overly nostalgic and sentimental, but we forgive that because of the beautiful moments and the heartwarming that this film brings us.
The return to himself and his youth of the main character, beautifully played by Richard Berry, had become inevitable after his meeting with "haughty bully" Alexander (What a wonderful actor Jacques Villeret is) and the modest journalist, publisher of an Armenian magazine.
Henri Verneuil provided a sequel to the also successful "Meyrig" and did so very competently and also provided the beautiful texts that really adorn the film.
Enjoyed it to the fullest.
And when I spent some time with Carole's character after the film, I thought: I'll put Peter Sarstedt's "Where do you go to my lovely?" on.
