Expectations were high, cast with big names, high budget. Only when I heard the theme my expectations actually dropped: Santa Claus has been kidnapped and if we don't find him back Christmas will not happen.
This film was actually not quite there, for me just not enough to get a passing grade, I think mainly because of the somewhat childish theme for me.
Nice idea? That's for sure. Execution? Expected better

I enjoyed myself, partly due to the excellent pacing and the film that never bores for a moment and with that this thing scores a pass. But that's it. Light entertainment but not great and outside the cinema you've almost forgotten about it. Actors play with visible pleasure although I think Johnson is better than Evans. Johnson can play a character that is not quite human with seemingly limited emotions. His facial expressions and comic timing are very suitable for that. Evans irritated me a bit. JK Simmons is just fine but not special. The action is also somewhat messy on screen. I did think the world that was created was very nice. Santa Claus as a magical creature but also CEO of a multinational and who collaborates with the American army. Nice. 3.0*.

Worthless. It hasn't happened to me in a long time, but I fell asleep for a few seconds twice. The story was that boring. And then they also find it necessary to squeeze more than two hours out of it. The highlight was when the credits finally started. End of suffering.
Why not half a star? Visually it looked pretty good. But you don't have to put this crap on for the story.
