Very mediocre homegrown film.

Antonie Kamerling also seems to have little interest in it. His whole attitude and appearance in this one is one of I don't feel like this at all. Quite a shame, because co-star Angela Schijf is doing a lot better in that area. She also comes across a lot more credible than Kamerling and knows how to play male seductress Reza reasonably convincingly. Then there is also the laughably bad role of Beau van Erven Dorens. He is someone with little film experience and you can clearly see that here. His character is also quite annoying and far from believable.

The final story is also not very interesting. At least I didn't find it interesting anymore. A better elaboration would undoubtedly have kept it more interesting. Reza is in itself the most fascinating character, but we don't get to know the "real" story about her remarkable behavior. Even in that area, the film is ultimately quite unsatisfactory.

One evening, after a very long time, I felt like it again. Zero wit and a wonderful "stormy" Dutch drama film. Well, there are titles that I wouldn't have chosen, but "I love you too" seemed to go further in terms of plot than the sweet stuff with cackling 50+ housewives, or heavily disillusioned women with kids and all kinds of issues, well... how commercial exaggerated it may be, the plot appealed to me.

Because this film is not about the flowers and the bees. In addition to "De Kleine Blond Dood", Antonie Kamerling once again plays a fine role here, just like DKBD also as a writer named Eric who tells his new potential crush about his relationship with Reza (obscure name already). Reza is portrayed quite strongly here by the still very young Angela Schijf. And however Dutch this film may be, I could empathize with the film and the film still managed to touch me. We immediately see that Reza has her anarchistic traits in which Eric finds tension and challenge. But you soon notice that something is not quite right with this young lady. We could be talking about a case of borderline here. Reza convinced me, one time she enchanted me and the other time she was just scary. And the alluring thing in this matter is; love is blind, even if from a distance you would think that you would soon cut it off with such a figure, but up close, on the contrary... when you are already so ingrained in each other. This results in confrontational moments that can be literally and figuratively painful. What I also found funny was that I also got a bit of a Turkish Delight feeling here and there.

What made the film, with its plot, better was subtlety. Mary... on the other hand; it's a typical Dutch film, so you can't expect that. The ending was also predictable.

Furthermore, the film convinced me well and made me think.

Angela Schijf is definitely a plus in this film. The rest is probably going to sum up the flip side. Since this can take quite a while, I'll definitely skip this, as I don't think the film is worth spending my time on it.
