During a terrifying home burglary in Mexico City, Eva is nearly killed. She and her husband decide to move to Los Angeles where she can recover. But when her husband has to go on a business trip, she is left alone in an unknown place and suffers from paranoia. She is comforted by the smart home security system, but the technology is hard to master and she begins to wonder if it will actually keep her safe or take over her life.
