Uninteresting murder mystery that picks up steam far too late, mainly because the character introductions don't work. This is mainly due to the fact that the acting is not great, which makes it less inviting for the viewer to think along with the film. Only Mischa Barton seems to hold her own among the crowd, but when a detective can completely guess someone's background with a single look, the fun quickly disappears. Fortunately, director Stephen Shimek manages to gain some momentum once we get to the last half hour, where things really start to loosen up and it becomes intriguing to listen to the suspicions. The environment is also quite nicely decorated despite the obvious financial limitations, although Shimek could have done a lot more with the music to further enhance the atmosphere. In the end it didn't take long at all and I could live with the outcome, but almost the entire first hour is redeemable.
