NFL quarterback Tom Brady plays himself, and spent most of his career playing for the New England Patriots. At the time of this movie's release, he was playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A few days before the film's release, he announced his retirement from the NFL for the second time. Shortly after announcing his first farewell, he soon reversed this decision. During a scene when exchanging the sweaters, this is a subtle reference to a true story. After Super Bowl LI, Brady's jersey was stolen. During a raid on the home of the Honduran newspaper "La Prensa", the sweater was found on March 12, 2017 by the Mexican Federal Police and FBI. Two days later, director Mauricio Ortega resigned for "personal reasons".

Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are good friends. In addition to their leading role in Nine to Five, they also appeared in the Netflix show Grace and Frankie. Sally Field is the only one of the four female protagonists who was under the age of 80 during filming. The ladies were good for twelve Oscar nominations and five wins. Despite being nominated, Lily Tomlin didn't win. Of those twelve nominations, they only competed against each other once for an Oscar in 1980. Sally Field and Jane Fonda were in the running for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Sally Field eventually managed to win this Oscar.

The plot is extremely thin, and the whole thing can be called melodramatic. This is based on a true story that we have seen before. Still, the chemistry between Fonda, Field, Tomlin and Moreno works out well. It's nice to see that the ladies, despite their age, provide a strong dynamic. Quite entertaining for fans.

2.5 *

Although best friends Lou [Lily Tomlin], Trish [Jane Fonda], Betty [Sally Field] and Maura [Rita Moreno] don't exactly live below the poverty line, we have to believe they can't afford four tickets to the Superbowl. The ladies decide to make their shared dream come true and enter a competition on the radio. Of course they win the tickets, the ladies experience crazy adventures with which they show that age is not an obstacle, the story contains a sentimental twist and everything ends up on its feet. A superficial script. so this has to rely on the charisma of and the chemistry between the protagonists. Only Field comes out well. And as the title suggests, legendary quarterback Tom Brady has a small role.

Reasonable film about four late-aged best friends who decide to go to the Super Bowl. Rather fragmentary in design and the humor is quite stale. There is enough going on that makes the film easy to watch. The cast (of which three of the four leading ladies have now passed their 80s) is entertaining. A narrow 3.0 stars.
