The Strays plot
Neve is the deputy principal of a private school. She has a good life and lives with her husband Ian and teenage children Sebastian and Mary in a beautiful house in an idyllic country town. But her carefully crafted upper-middle-class life begins to unravel with the arrival of two shadowy figures from her past, Abigail and Marvin.

I am clearly less negative. This, of course, depends on whether you see the outcome the woman runs off and not only abandons her children from the previous relationship (again), but also from her second leg coming. I have to say I didn't see that coming, also because for most of the movie I thought it was more about a black lady trying to pretend to be white. That's why this worked for me. Anyway, some things could have been worked out better, especially in the psychology of the older children, where it is not entirely clear what they really want. 2.5*.

Moderate thriller. The story seems pretty nice and ingenious at first, but unfortunately the climax at the end throws a spanner in the works. The effect actually depends on that. The first quarter is pretty strong. As a viewer you don't know what to expect and which way it will go, the film remains fascinating. The second and third quarters provide the denouement early on and deal a considerable blow to the level of the film. The last part is completely out of place and completely detracts from the film. Much more could have been done here. The acting is also ok. Visually nothing to notice. 3.0
