Il Ritorno di Casanova plot

The successful and renowned director Leo Bernardi struggles with his decline. The shooting of his most recent film has just ended and he looks suspiciously like the protagonist in the story, based on the work Casanova by Arthur Schnitzler. Casanova is an older man whose charm and zest for life have worn off. He wants to return to Venice and meets Marcolina on the way. She gives him back his joie de vivre whereupon he tries to seduce her. But like Leo Bernardi, Casanova faces fate.
