Halloween is upon us in the small town of Rabbit Hash Ohio, but for Jeremiah "Miah" Sanders and his outcast friends, this time of year is usually worthless. Constantly trying to escape the clutches of the local bullies and their pranks, Miah wishes he could muster the courage to reveal his love, and also has to deal with his overprotective mother. Miah prefers to skip Halloween altogether. But this year, the group of outcasts wants to steal a mysterious plate and see if the legends surrounding it are true. Little do they know that the board is a gateway to an unspeakable evil from which they may not be able to escape.

The solid acting and imaginative approach somewhat compensate for the cheap formatting, as it certainly seems like director Tory Jones had a blast making They See You. Because it's an independent film, the door is immediately open for the necessary creativity. While attempts are made, the execution is somewhat lackluster. The enemies appear rather simple, and some scenes seem hastily inserted, meaning not all the images exude the same passion. What remains is an overly drawn-out attempt at drama and a sensational finale that ends rather hastily. Fortunately, it's all entertaining, and the premise invites a bit of unpredictability.
