"Don't let them hear you."
When her father ends up in hospital, Emma leaves New York for her parental home in Italy. She remains alone and is confronted by an evil entity via a cursed radio. To protect her loved ones and herself, Emma must uncover the secret behind the radio.

A striking haunted house film with a compelling concept: sound production summons spirits. This idea is taken very literally and presented in a drawn-out manner by the directorial trio Alessandro Antonaci, Daniel Lascar, and Stefano Mandalà, with the middle section brimming with tension and atmosphere. The dimly lit house, the well-paced jump scares, and the relatively short duration almost single-handedly ensure that Sound of Silence is anything but a dull reunion, but you'll have to put up with mediocre acting and a disappointing finale. Italian filmmakers certainly know how to create a creepy atmosphere, and I'm eagerly awaiting their next work. However, a somewhat dull premise prevents a higher rating.
