"The Times Didn't Choose Us, We Chose to Change the Times"
One spark can be enough for an unquenchable conflagration, Hong Kongers have proven in recent years. What started as a peaceful protest, grew into a dogged mass struggle between civilians and enforcers. Revolution of Our Times closely monitors how the situation escalated. Divided into nine chapters, which take place between 2019 and 2021, the viewer is drawn into the experience of hundreds of thousands of protesters. While experts explain the political situation, the film mainly zooms in on the people at the front, from adolescents to the elderly and from Molotov thrower to logistics strategist.
