Animales Humanos plot
A married couple and their young daughter are terrified by the neighbor's dog, which attacks the little girl one day. The dog is euthanized much to the chagrin of his owners who loved him as their child. They will take revenge, terrorize the family and bring justice in a terrible way.

The third project from the notorious director Lex Ortega demonstrates his genuine interest in other subgenres within the same genre that don't necessarily focus on brutal violence, but Animales Humanos is nevertheless a mediocre film. The first half hour is thankfully still manageable, with well-constructed nuance and an effective approach to the deliberate euthanasia of pets.Ortega encourages the viewer to empathize with both sides, but then devolves into a soporific home invasion sequence in which the burglars wear ridiculous masks and thus lose all sense of menace. Fans of gritty imagery will be disappointed, but Ortega simply doesn't compensate enough with other additions.
