Her father is out of the picture and her mother [Sienna Guillory] has to work. That's why Emily [Derby Camp] is stuck with her immature uncle Casey [Jack Whitehall], who cannot do anything about her loneliness. After a visit to the mysterious pet shop of an old man [John Cleese], a small red dog appears to be hiding in Emily's bag. Emily manages to convince her uncle not to bring the animal back until the next day, but then Clifford turns out to have grown into a giant of a dog. This leads to comical events that arouse the interest of Tieran [Tony Hale], who wants to use Clifford for scientific research. The shy Whitehall is the victim of the necessary poop and pee jokes that characterize the level of humor. The syrupy, good story is probably digestible for the little ones among us. The rest will be bothered by the false sentiment and the mediocre CGI.

For a child aged 4-8, as a director you can't do much wrong with a film about a big red puppy. For them, Clifford's mediocre CGI design is not a problem, but from an adult perspective it is indeed striking how animated the animal looks (although secretly a bit cute). Director Walt Becker does not target the film at all for an older audience, so the clichés almost burn through your screen. It means that every child is too smart for his or her age and every adult person behaves like an idiot, which I personally don't think is the nicest way of humor. The makers seem to have put no effort at all into the role of Tony Hale, who plays the antagonist of the film. Terrible interpretation, which I expect the kids won't like either. Darby Camp and Isaac Wang are a sympathetic duo and the roles of Jack Whitehall and John Cleese (who plays a reference to the author of the book series) are solid, but ultimately you have to have a very limited critical attitude to really enjoy this. can enjoy.
