"Love In Spring."
Young journalist Ashleigh leaves for Manhattan, New York with her boyfriend Gatsby to interview the famous director Roland Pollard. After the interview, the director takes Ashleigh on a trip through New York, whereupon Gatsby decides to visit family. Along the way, he accidentally bumps into the sister of a former flame.

A rather unpredictable present in all its New York predictability. This film is an eight - not because it is original, but because it dares not to be original. In a cinema age where we think we've seen it all, we almost forget how often we long for a romantic conversation. A Rainy Day in New York is exactly what it pretends to be: a film that finds it necessary to romanticize a rainy day in New York. Such an almost unbearable romance reminds us of the dangerously pleasant feeling the idea of love evokes in us. I was a bit ashamed, but I left the room with a warm smile. Because I fell into Woody Allen's trap. Allen, a man with a dodgy resume regarding his own romantic life; I, a soul like you, who like everyone else sometimes yearns for more romance in life; we all know full well how much we want that rainy day in New York. Giving this film a lower rating could then only be the result of denial, pretense and misplaced pride.

After a few okay movies from Allen, now another movie that I really enjoyed. That certainly won't be the case for everyone, though. It is very much Woody Allen weather and little news. But I enjoy the atmosphere, the actors, the music and the images. I especially liked Selena Gomez and Elle Fanning. Chalamet too, but his role as always with Woody Allen leads is a bit gray.
