I really enjoyed this movie, although I have no idea why. Because I've sometimes slammed similar films, with a similar predictable plot.
Why not this one? No idea. Is it Butler's charm? Is it because a Morgan Freeman movie is impossible to hate? Or is it because of Nick Nolte's surprise appearance? Perhaps. Perhaps it was also the exaggeratedly thick explosions, which sometimes seemed endless.
Anyway, it couldn't have been the story. Because rarely has a film not surprised me in such an extreme way in terms of story. You already know who the traitor is after 10 minutes, you know who the mastermind behind the traitor is and you know who will face whom at the end of the film.
The old Tom Cruise / Mission Impossible stigma also comes into play: a hero can kill hundreds of well-trained soldiers during the film, but shortly before the credits he suddenly has the greatest difficulty with the final boss, who is often twice his age and two years old. times as thick. A cliché as old as the road to Rome, but Angel Has Fallen pulls it out.
Despite the predictable story, it is much better than its predecessor. In that part, the crooks managed to bribe/infiltrate at least half of the London police force, which of course is completely idiotic. This third - and apparently last - part is still slightly absurd (hackers who can really go anywhere) but nevertheless, slightly more plausible.
The CGI was also much better than in part two.

Better than the second part. Angel Has Fallen is an unpretentious action film that isn't as bombastic as London Has Fallen, and the beginning is even calm. Mike has some physical and psychological issues (logical), and it's only after the president (Morgan Freeman on autopilot) goes fishing and has to deal with a drone attack on his morning off that the story picks up a bit. Lots of action, lots of showmanship and also Nick Nolte as Butler's father… Perfect casting choice. Piper Perabo is kind of a youth crush, and she still looks fantastic.

Mediocre film in which a secret agent of the president struggles with health problems. Third part already in the 'Fallen' series. A meager plot that is far from original. Incredible, sometimes to the point of irritating. A few nice action scenes, but nowhere manage to make this impression. It won't be annoying, but it doesn't get more than 2.5 stars.
