Two spectacular exorcism scenes are the few highlights of Sabrina, because otherwise it is mainly an easily directed and meaningless horror film about a possessed doll. When I first saw that thing I was amazed that the main characters mistook it for a normal and cute object. If my daughter or son were walking around with that doll, I would have at least had a chat with them. Okay, not every horror movie has to make sense, but the rest of this movie isn't much better. The demonic threat looks too comical to be scary (that long nose really should have been deleted) and the large number of horror scenes do not manage to be exciting through cursory cutting and pasting. Three different people worked on the screenplay of this Indonesian horror film, but all apparently had no idea what the concept of "structure" stands for. All kinds of horror scenes are loosely stitched together and characters come and go, but there is never any peace, so you as a viewer can never feel any atmosphere or tension. I thought it was an exceptionally messy event, but director Soraya has already churned out a lot of puppet horror, so Sabrina will probably get a sequel after some time.
