Adieu Poulet plot
Some political criminals murder a volunteer who works for their opponent and also an agent dies. Inspector Verjeat starts an investigation in which he searches for the politician who, according to him, ordered the attack. The closer he gets to the politician, the more opposition he encounters from his superiors.

Smooth French police film with a strong, as usual very serious, Lino Ventura.
As is often the case in such films, the emphasis is on the corruption of the police and politics.
Film has a surprising ending in store.
A few improbabilities, such as the public within shooting range of the hostage taker, but that aside, quite enjoyable.

This is another strong crime film with Lino Ventura. The funny intro scene in the luxury brothel alone immediately set a dark humor tone. Then a police inspector is murdered when he tries to intervene in the beating of a poster plasterer for a political campaign. The perpetrator appears to have ties to an emerging politician just before the elections. Everything that follows is Verjean's investigation to find the hiding criminal. During his investigation, he also has to deal with political maneuvers that affect him personally to protect the image of politician Lardatte. One of these is the forced "promotion" of Inspector Verjean in which he would be transferred to the other side of France. An interesting film in which political interference with the police plays a central role. The semi-open ending is genius.
