In any case, it is not due to the beautiful visual effects. The pleasantly drowsy soundtrack is not to be blamed either. The flaw is the story full of plot holes and quasi-existential musings. Ad Astra is a star movie about stars, but it doesn't sparkle.

It must be me. But what a sleep-inducing film.
I expected at least a twist or something like that. But none of that, the whole story can be told in 5 minutes.
It reminded me a lot of the Cannes film of "Willem Dafoe" in "Mr. Bean's Holiday".
