When David Byrne performed his show American Utopia on Broadway from October 2019 to February 2020, theaters were still able to sell out until the last seat. For weeks, Byrne showed and told all 961 visitors to the Hudson Theater that he is a songwriter and storyteller of the highest order. In a sober setting, he and his international collection of musicians polished up imperishable songs from Talking Heads songs in order to effortlessly combine them with new work.
