Went in without prior knowledge, but with high expectations of course. All came true. It is definitely a very long sit and then the film is also quite slow, but that hasn't been a problem for me for a moment. The atmosphere, the cast, the camera work, the music and the story are all top notch. Best mafia movie in years. Rejuvenating De Niro looks a bit crazy, but luckily you get used to it pretty quickly.
Glad I was able to see it at least once in the cinema, because it seems quite difficult to experience the film on Netflix like this.

This movie... A 77-year-old Scorsese who implements the very latest SFX techniques... a Pesci who decides to join after 10 years of retirement... a very last chance to see deNiro, Pacino and Pesci shine and maybe the last Scorsese.
That's not a movie...this is a monument!
But the movie.. oh how I enjoyed it. Precisely the modest, the substantiated, the emotions, the reflection... wonderful. This is GOLD... like a fine wine aged to perfection.
Anyway, I give 5 stars, honestly I think 4.5 is rather correct but that extra half star is to counter the people who base their review on the following Rambo instead of pure, ice cold quality..
Yes : crackling long
No: not a second of uninteresting.

Very long but fortunately well worth it in the end, although the film certainly has its shortcomings. For example, it takes a lot of getting used to the digital rejuvenation process of all the protagonists. Nicely done, but because the actors are all old, they still seem old in terms of motor skills, no matter how young the faces look. Gradually you get sucked into the story and there is a lot to enjoy, but a number of clumsy scenes (mainly the one with the punished greengrocer) and the somewhat stiff first hour detract from the fun. Fortunately, as soon as Al Pacino makes his appearance, things become a lot livelier and, above all, funnier. The scenes between him and Stephen Graham, for example, are hilarious. The melancholic ending is also very beautiful. Eventually comes the realization that this is not so much a gangster movie but a movie about aging.
