Small-town photographer Baxter Billings wins $50,000 one day in a contest. He decides to show his good heart and buy Christmas presents for the people in the village with the money. In this way, he becomes acquainted with Westin Collins, a boy who lost his father. His mother Pamela is having a hard time making ends meet. Baxter is deeply concerned about the family's fate and gradually falls in love with Pamela.
