"How a lemon became a legend."
California, 1977: playground for the rich and famous. Sun-drenched, sexy and fueled by a load of 'Colombian snow'. Maverick car designer John DeLorean is a gambler and cunning businessman. DeLorean is committed to designing the ultimate car of the future, a sports car with wings. DeLorean's neighbor Jim Hoffman can barely support his family but lives well beyond his means, leaning financially on a cheap artist. Jim soon discovers that DeLorean's life is teetering on the brink of collapse. When Jim is arrested by the FBI with a shipment of drugs, he teams up with FBI agent Benedict Tisa to bring in DeLorean.

A decent film about a pilot who becomes an FBI informant after being caught smuggling drugs. Not the most original true story. But it does make for an entertaining film, despite the characters remaining somewhat superficial. It is all presented quite lightly and the cast portrays the characters quite entertainingly (Jason Sudeikis is also well-cast in that regard).

Lee Pace plays his role as John DeLorean excellently in the film Driven. That alone is reason enough for me to enjoy watching this film. After all, I like people who are a bit quirky, who are a little unconventional. I have watched the film a few times already, which has given me a better eye for these kinds of details. Overall, I found it an enjoyable film, mainly because of the humor. In movies, humor is often lame or overdone, but here it is well-balanced. What did you think of this underrated film?
