Strong how the film introduces the blind Natalie Dormer to the viewer in the beginning. With an abundance of sound stimuli, which she has to filter every second for importance. An impossible task. Not everything can be filtered. Moreover, not everything is audible. There is danger she knows about and danger she doesn't know about. We, the omniscient viewers, do. That knowledge is skilfully used to evoke oppression and involvement. Such a blind woman. It's great that she can hold her own in this world full of danger and live so independently. Oh, watch out! Okay, goal achieved. The empathy is there. The character bond is a fact.

The story is basically small. A murder. A blind witness. A little menace. Exciting, yes. Blindness is well exploited. The blind tube vision. Nice and clear. Upsetting too. The tightness increases. And the moment this pleasant stage in the story is reached and the tension is well up and the curiosity about the sequel increases, it goes downhill almost immediately.

The story succumbs to implausible plot twists, to rabbits jumping out of all kinds of hats, to uninteresting side issues. The atmosphere of oppression from the beginning is of course also lost in such an extension of subsections and footnotes that are of little interest. The more rabbits that appear on the scene, the more implausible and uninteresting the main storyline becomes.

But then that Natalie Dormer. Although her strong character also threatens to fragment into all kinds of subplots in the long run, she manages to survive as an actress. A beacon in the turbulent and illogical waves of the story. Even if the film no longer commands attention, it continues to do so

Fine actress, that Dormer.

Well, had a more positive experience. with the explanation of Collins about the first piece I completely agree and certainly the great performance of Dormer. But even afterwards the film managed to entertain me enough with perhaps some unbelievable twists and turns, but that applies to most films on this theme with crime, war dramas and corruption, where a lot of rabbits are often pulled out of a hat . No, at least it didn't bother me. I had that feeling with the very last scene ( bland and simple in terms of action ) which was developed very poorly. 7/10

This was on TV and caught once. The film started off promising and somewhat mysterious. The first hour was fine. The last half hour I found a bit less. The story didn't appeal to me and I couldn't care less.

The cast didn't do too bad.

Great movie to catch when they show it on TV.
