Nice!

The funny thing is that in the beginning you think: What is this going to be... and only later... Oh yeah... that's called a werewolf.

A mother gives birth to a strange hairy creature and dies... This creature is taken care of by a housewife. Then we make a time jump and the creature has turned into a cute little boy. Although... This little boy Joel has a very remarkable place to sleep... He still functions well at school and he is not shy about making friends. But on a full moon...

It is also nice that this film changes regularly. From homespun soap to coming of age... to comedy, action and of course horror. Many beautiful city images of Sao Paulo too. You would almost think that these types of themes often take place in the village or a rural environment.

A very sympathetic horror indeed...

A downright bad movie. The film is a kind of cross between Rosemary's Baby (particularly the first part) and a werewolf film (particularly the second part) but the film is an insult to both: this film is completely uninspired, has some themes from classic horror films here and there taken (also from Alien and Frankenstein) but doesn't manage to do anything interesting or even fun with it. At no point does the film surprise or charm. Moreover, all the people in the film make incomprehensible decisions, the werewolf is too clearly fake and the acting (particularly of the two boys) is just as bad as the script, so that the film is not believable for a moment. Gradually the film dropped from 2 1/2 stars to 2 stars and in the end the film did not even manage to retain the two stars for me.

The only reason I can think of why they decided to release this misfire of a film in the Netherlands is the LGBT twist to the cliché story because the married couple has been replaced by a lesbian couple. However, the film proves that the film lover is the victim of such moral-politically motivated choices.

A werewolf film that is extremely exciting and did not fascinate me for a moment. And then those terrible chants... soporific
