When George is diagnosed with a deadly illness, he takes care of his teenage son Sam. For Sam, having fun consists of drug use, prostitution and avoiding his father. By building a house with Sam, George tries to reconnect with him.

I thought it was a very moving film. For a moment I was afraid that Kevin Kline would portray the role a bit too superficially because he has not often played such heavy roles. Or am I wrong? In any case, I thought he played a very strong role. The story is not overblown but remains nicely small and yet very impressive.

A nice comedic drama with a nice cast. This now 15 year old film is still fine to watch, a nice film with a smile and a tear. It is admittedly a bit on the sweet side, but despite the heavy subject it remains nice and light and there are a number of funny moments in it. Nice to see you once.
