I think that band "Creedence Clearwater Revival" and singer Tina Turner, who both had a big hit with the song "Proud Mary" , will not be particularly proud of this worthless and clichéd dime a dozen Action / Thriller film, which fails to captivate or entertain at all and in which all white people who play in it are bad and all dark people only cause irritation, like lead actress Taraji P. Henson and especially the annoying child Jahi Di'Allo Winston, who I had long since shown every corner of the room. Something that the bad guy Uncle (played by Xander Berkeley) also more or less did at the beginning of the story and which is actually the only plus point in this film.
It's even better to watch the performance of "Proud Mary" sung by Tori Matthieu than this mess, and not necessarily because of her singing qualities but because of her singing qualities

Pretty nice.
It's not all very original, of course, but I thought the bit of drama in it was quite effective. This ensures that the film is still somewhat interesting outside the action scenes, which is a problem for most action films.
The acting was decent, the action scenes are also not bad. Not really striking, but there is a certain dryness and brutality that I quite appreciated. The second part of the film is slightly more boring, but at that point I was already quite into it.
This is certainly not really high-quality, nor is it very striking. Only the soundtrack perhaps, but mainly in a negative sense. Completely out of place and it even takes away some of the impact. But otherwise a solid movie, nothing great but quite entertaining.

This film is probably intended as a tribute to the black exploitation films from the 1970s. However, unlike those films, there is nothing innovative or surprising to discover here.
The story is fairly standard for the action genre, the acting is very mediocre and with every minute that passes the film loses quality.
With a lot of effort I made it to the end of the film and if I'm completely honest I had to make a lot of effort to catch up on the first half hour. In short, completely interchangeable and does not impress anywhere.
Very mediocre but nice that an attempt is being made to breathe new life into a worn-out genre.
