Slightly less revision.

Reminded me of this one as the better of the two, but in hindsight there isn't that much difference between them. This is probably because the effects may have been significantly better in the past, but the difference is now a lot less clear.

I remembered the scene in the court as quite spectacular, nowadays hardly anything remains of it. But also smaller things, like the Ghostbusters jumping into the river or slime ... just very badly done. Takes away some of the original fun.

The film is also a bit more ignorant. That is both positive and negative, which ultimately makes it mainly a zero operation. It's a bit funnier and especially a bit less serious, which makes it a bit closer to the nonsense that it actually is, on the other hand it also lacks a slightly sharper edge.

Certain scenes remain funny to watch again, fast pace too and the bad guy (especially in painting form) remains cool, but the time has not been so good for this second part. Still a good half off.

2.5*

Part 2, and yes, I've seen this one. It was during primary school that I was confronted with this film during a party. And since I was on a bad footing with creepy things at that age, I wasn't exactly thrilled when this movie came out. But while playing it was not so bad for me and I considered the film to be entertaining. Although I have to say that I think the recommended age of 6 years is a bit on the low side with the scene with the heads up in the subway tunnel.

The story is simple, a few years later Dana gets into trouble again and the Ghostbusters find themselves in a situation where they are no longer in demand and even unpopular. Still, something is brewing in New York and eventually The Ghostbusters must take action to fight evil.

What part 2 suffers from from the start is the slow pace. The film doesn't seem to get going and it takes almost 45 minutes before the real problems surface and the men start their investigation. Then there is the character Peter, again Bill Murray, where he colored the previous film, his character is now just bland. Ghostbusters 2 doesn't surprise with anything new and just like the first, a solution was devised and even implemented very quickly.

There is little new under the sun, the humor is a bit fainter, but the tone is a bit darker. Number two cannot be called better than the first, but the film is entertaining and nice for once, or there must be a lot of sentiment.

Where I find the 1st really great, part 2 is that from afar, he is especially very bland and in fact doesn't tell you anything new and I think that's a shame. The cast does its best but can't save the film, the comrades only wanted to make 1 part but by pushing the studio they did it anyway.
