Meritorious second part, although the film never manages to achieve that little bit extra. Instead of working towards an exciting and spectacular climax, we are saddled with an unremarkable and dull finale. In terms of plot, everything is neatly wrapped up, but you are still left with a nagging feeling that there could have been more in it. The first part was somewhat better, partly due to the more intriguing structure.

It is about his desire to see his wife again after 20 years of exile, and to end the decades of Klan conflicts on the home front. As a result, a fictional character becomes a direct participant in the history of Norway and Sweden. At the end, Birger Jarl, the man who laid the foundations for the first Swedish state, is mentioned as his hypothetical grandson. Not bad, I thought it was a nice story, but the war scenes are tackled on a rather small scale, which means that the film cannot hide its TV production level.
