The Texas Chainsaw Massacre plot

"What you know about fear...doesn't even come close."

A group of young people are on their way to a concert, when they pick up a severely traumatized girl who kills herself moments later. They decide to look for a phone and end up at the home of the Hewitt family and the cannibalistic killer Leatherface, who then goes after the youngsters with his chainsaw.

Great horror movie. Good dirty, gore and dirty. The clichés drip off, but it is still delicious pulp. All very exciting. I had seen the film in the cinema before, now for 0.50 euro cents in a thrift store. Well, definitely still a very strong horror film of its kind. Better than the original, which I thought was a bit boring.

It quickly becomes clear that it is a remake of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre from 1974. The details are different and the film is less annoying. I found the Leatherface family more believable here than those fringe louts from the original. Also just better actors in general with Biel and R. Lee Ermey. The latter is of course best known for Full Metal Jacket. I certainly understand that Jessica Biel broke through with this. Well done, she's making the movie. The original didn't have that either, all the characters were retarded there. That was not the case here either. Here and there their choice could have been better, but all in all significantly more believable than in the original. Usually remakes aren't better but this one is (sorry to fans of the original). Not that I will soon become a fan of this series, time to throw something else through it and then I'll continue with the next parts.

Today I started on the Texas chainsaw movies for the first time and starting with this 1st part (if this is the 1st part) but I started with this.
Thought it was an entertaining and exciting movie, I could already tell that the sheriff and the other people in the village were all part of it , he never really got gore or a lot of blood (which for me you don't have to) so that's definitely a plus, everything happened and became more and more exciting.
Still I didn't quite get the ending Did the last girl survive? Did Leatherface survive (but his arm was cut off) ? The movie didn't seem to have an ending.

But I'm going to watch the 2nd part soon: ''the beginning'' from 2006 and maybe it will continue there, we'll see!
