On their last outing before being sent to Vietnam, the two brothers Eric and Dean, along with their friends Bailey and Chrissie, are the victims of an accident. Great!

Can compete with 1 of the better parts in the series and of the more modern films I even think this is the best. Liebesman's direction is just a bit more impressive than Nispel's. Both films use the same style, but Liebesman manages to work out that impact a bit better, resulting in some very cool scenes.

The film has to take off for a while before it goes off. The build-up is, as we can expect, a bit on the slow side, but visually there are plenty of beautiful things in between. Also, the characters aren't terribly annoying. I can't really call them good, but I didn't have any problems with them.

Visually a decent movie. The dirty but polished cinematography works very well and the murders are pretty brutal. Maybe there is just a bit too much off-screen, but I thought the impact of the chainsaw scenes was pretty good. It doesn't often happen to me that I experience a horror film like this as shocking, but every now and then I was still watching with my mouth open.

Of course, a movie like this can't compete with the kings of gore, but I think the movie makes a decent effort. It just doesn't get exciting anywhere, but both the comedy and brutal horror work excellently. In terms of entertainment, it is good and the pace is (eventually) high. Liebesman also manages to work out some mean scenes well, which in turn increases the aforementioned impact.

I had a great time with this movie. Highly directed, more shocking than the other modern TCM films. Maybe it could have been a little more explicit at times and the characters are a bit flat, but otherwise I really enjoyed this film. Another TCM film in which the chainsaws really impress. Nice.

Good horror film, but it is certainly not as strong as the previous one from 2003. It was a bit more exciting and 'dirtier'.

However, this one is also very good to chew! Good sense to zero and enjoy the cliché scenes and wrong choices that everyone keeps making.

Watched today, didn't think it was any better than the previous part from 2003, this film again a repeat of moves just like the previous one, a lot of gore and blood we see here again perhaps a bit more brutal than the film from 2003.

You have to like the ending, but it is different than expected, personally not to my taste.

On to the next Texas chainsaw movie.
