What a terrible setback this is. After watching a fantastic part 1, with a lot of conspiracy and mystery, I was so excited for part 2, that maybe my expectations were too high. Part 2 disappointed me too. Maaaaar there was a part 3. Here I stepped in a lot more neutral. No high expectations, just curious.
After 10 minutes I was sucked right back in! Exciting, mysterious, creepy...what's going on here? I became enthusiastic again, wanted to look further. But after episode 2 everything became clear, the mystery patsboom disappeared ... tension gone. All links that were not yet connected were shown in great detail.
And yet I think again? But there must still be a conspiracy somewhere...the director still has to conjure a rabbit out of the top hat, put the viewer on the wrong foot....but nothing could be further from the truth. 6 episodes, this series ripples even further while everything is already clear. The director tries to make it exciting here and there, but for me it was already wet porridge. There could have been so much more here, because the cast was good and the acting was good too. But alas....when season 4 comes, I'll drop it. Unfortunately

Great season. Not your stereotypical crime series. lucky indicates above that the tension is gone after episode 2. But I think this series is primarily not about who is doing it. It's about the why of the story, and what the profound background of that person is. That's what you see in Episodes 3 to 6.
It is indeed told slowly, that is a taste thing and also has to do with what your expectations are.
I liked it very much, because most crime series use the same format and The Sinner approaches it differently, here the emphasis is on more psychological depth.
Now just waiting for season 4.
