Mr. Mercedes plot

On a frigid early morning, hundreds of desperate unemployed queue up for a job fair. Without warning, a lone driver in a stolen Mercedes hurtles through the crowd; eight people are killed, fifteen are injured. The killer escapes. Months later, retired Detective Bill Hodges is still haunted by the unsolved crime. When he receives an insane letter from someone who calls himself the "Mercedes Killer" and threatens another diabolical attack, Hodges awakens from his depressed and blank retirement, determined to prevent another tragedy.

As good as the first season was, so far-fetched and boring is the second.

Hopefully season 3 will be better...

Some stories work better as a film than as a series. I can easily forgive a Stephen King adaptation for being far-fetched and illogical. King is just a bit campy. But the second season of 'Mr. Mercedes' (2018) gets off to a painfully slow start. There seems to be some tension building towards the end, but they skillfully destroy that too. Or as my series buddy said in a rather sad voice: "Kaj, they're talking so much!"
