Storm of the Century plot

Storm of the Century is about a small community on an island in Maine, besieged by a brutal climate and an even more vicious, omniscient creature. "Give me what I want and I'll go away," proclaims the humanoid being who calls himself Linoge. There is mystery in his name. And in his unyielding demand. One thing is clear to the villagers. The sturdy town hall may be able to protect them from the storm. But nothing can protect them from the ever-worsening terror of an evil rampant since the dawn of time.

Strange that it never got to us. Or I should have missed him, of course. Good series that, despite its 4 hours running time, does not bore for a moment. Typically King to create such an atmosphere in an American community and this time on an island.

First of all, just leave out the "horror" in the genre. No horror seen. A nice thriller. Those who do find good horror in it should look up what horror means.

But maybe - if I had watched this in 1999 - it would have scored higher if it wasn't so damn long-winded. creating an atmosphere is one thing, milking things out is another. And maybe I'm "spoiled" with the better horror work

Furthermore, arranged illogical matters, which could easily have been refuted. They just take me out of the empathy I used to have. Especially the arousing of the feeling for the deed that one must do to survive.

It's funny that there are many elements that come back later in the Haven series. All in all, quite entertaining, but no more than 2.5 stars, due to the slowness, lack of logic at times, and the disappointing ending.
