Grimm plot

Grimm revolves around Nick Burkhardt who works for the Portland Police Department with partner Hank Griffin. Nick lives with his girlfriend Juliette who is a veterinarian. As a child, after the death of his parents, he was raised by his aunt Marie, who eventually died as a result of an attack on the street. Just before this, however, she tells him their family secret on her deathbed. His family descends from the Grimm family and are responsible for the balance between the people and 'Wesen' here in the world. Wesen (the German word for creatures) are mythical figures that the Brothers Grimm also write about in their stories. Only Grimm's can see these Wesen for what they really are and with the passing of Aunt Marie, Nick must take on this role of 'protector'. A task that he initially finds difficult to deal with. But with the help of his friend Monroe, a "Blutbad" Nick meets on one of his cases, Nick gradually learns what it means to be a Grimm.

Gaat vrolijk verder waar S1 gebleven was, met dezelfde pluspunten (sfeervolle locaties, originele vondsten, leuke cast, beetje humor) en minpunten (veel van hetzelfde, te weinig impact). De hele verhaallijn over Adalind met Hank en Juliette duurt me te lang en is niet boeiend genoeg, zo'n beetje na halverwege de serie (ook al speelt het een grote rol). Eigenlijk vind ik de losse cases die ze behandelen en al die soorten Wesens, hun onderlinge relaties en de Duitse termen, het leukst. Erg creatief weer. PS Opeens is er een knullige, The-A-team-achtige voice over tijdens de intro, maar daarmee stoppen ze gelukkig na een paar afleveringen.

Cheerfully picks up where S1 left off, with the same positives (atmospheric locations, original finds, nice cast, bit of humor) and negatives (much of the same, too little impact).

The whole storyline about Adalind with Hank and Juliette is too long and not interesting enough for me, about halfway through the series (even if it plays a big part).

I actually like the individual cases they deal with and all those kinds of Wesens, their mutual relationships and the German terms. Very creative again.

PS Suddenly there's a clunky, The-A-team-esque voice over during the intro, but thankfully they stop after a few episodes.
