Goede serie en ik kon me heel goed vinden in hoe managers ons als werknemers proberen te zetten naar een hart voor de zaak. Ben ook heel benieuwd naar de uitspraak voor deze dame. Ik vond het ook een hele goede setting van de film hoe ze haar hebben neergezet. Moest wel even wennen aan hoe Amanda haar speelde, ik denk dat het sowieso moeilijk is om haar na te doen. Erg leuke serie en vooral al je je dan ook verdiept in het verloop hoe Theranos is ontstaan en weer ten gronde is gegaan.

Good series and I really liked how managers try to put us as employees to a heart for the cause. I am also very curious about the pronunciation for this lady.

I also thought it was a very good setting of the film how they portrayed her. Took a while to get used to how Amanda played her, I think it's hard to imitate anyway. Very nice series and especially if you also delve into the course of how Theranos came into being and went down again.

Interessant toch wel. Ik kende het hele bedrijf, de persoon en het verhaal niet, dus wat dat betreft lekker blanco erin. Vroeg me dan ook af of het me voldoende zou boeien. Dat lukt wel. Het is een gevalletje "Hoe kan het zo gebeuren?" en omdat het waargebeurd is -en je er dan maar vanuit mag gaan dat dat correct geportretteerd wordt- maakt dat extra indruk en verbijstering. En drukt dat het gevoel van plotgaten een beetje weg. Acteerwerk wel in orde. Het hoofdpersonage is zo'n onuitstaanbaar mens dat het me af en toe serieus dermate irriteerde dat ik me afvroeg of ik het wel leuk vond om verder te kijken: of dat nu juist goed geacteerd is of overacting, weet ik niet. Leuk om bekende koppen als Macy, Fry en zeker Smith te zien (als That 70's Show-fan). Zeker Fry zet een ontzettend aaibare rol neem en waarschijnlijk het karakter waar je meeste mee te doen hebt. Mede door het karakter van Elizabeth heeft de serie verder namelijk weinig emotie of sfeer, en moet het het echt hebben van het verloop van het verhaal. En dat is boeiend genoeg, al blijft er toch ook veel in het hoekje 'onbegrijpelijk, hoe dan' wat wat meer uitleg had mogen hebben, maar dat past ook wel weer in het verbijsterende van het geheel.

Interesting, though. I didn't know the whole company, the person, or the story, so I was approaching it with a blank slate. I also wondered if it would captivate me enough. It certainly does. It's a case of "How could this happen?" and because it's based on a true story—and you can only assume it's portrayed accurately—that adds to the impact and bewilderment. And it somewhat suppresses the feeling of plot holes.

The acting is decent. The main character is such an unbearable person that it occasionally irritated me so much that I wondered if I even wanted to continue watching: whether that's good acting or overacting, I don't know. It's nice to see familiar faces like Macy, Fry, and especially Smith (as a That '70s Show fan). Fry, in particular, takes on an incredibly lovable role and is probably the character you connect with most. Partly because of Elizabeth's character, the series lacks much emotion or atmosphere, relying entirely on the story's progression. And that's engaging enough, although a lot of it still remains in the "incomprehensible, how?" corner that could have used more explanation, but that also fits the bewildering nature of the whole thing.
