The series delves deeply into themes of human trafficking and corruption, evoking memories of the Swedish Missing People. The Silence tells a true story based on the book by investigative journalist Drago Hedl.
The build-up demands patience. The Silence has a slow start that tests the viewer, but those who persevere will gradually see a layered story emerge. Only in the final episodes does the plot truly grab you, and the pieces of the puzzle fall into place convincingly—without too many surprises. The acting is excellent across the board and elevates the series to an above-average level. The price of speaking is high, the price of silence even higher.
