Le Code plot
Parisian lawyer Idriss Toma wins a lawsuit against cancer-suffering employees of a major paint manufacturer. As a result, he is shot in his office by the husband of one of the victims who has just died. The doctors manage to remove three bullets, except for a shard lodged in his brain: they give the lawyer only one year to live. Determined to right his past wrongs, Idriss returns to his home town of Lille. There he joins forces with Nadia Ayad, a dedicated lawyer, and Jeanne Vanhoven, a former lawyer, to defend the weak.
