The Gold plot
This series opens with the events of November 26, 1983, when six armed men break into the Brink's-Mat security depot near London's Heathrow Airport. Unexpectedly, they find gold worth 26 million pounds there. What begins as "a typical Old Kent Road armed robbery" according to detectives at the time becomes a major event in British crime history that would be remembered for years to come. It was even the largest theft in world history at the time.

Seen a few episodes of it and I think it's a very good series that takes place in the time when there were still beautiful cars and vintage stuff for which a lot of money is now being given. I vaguely remember this event.
There are an incredible number of good British actors, such as Bonneville, among others. Must have been a nice surprise when they stumbled upon that huge pile of gold by accident. Reminds me a bit of the crime series The Great Train Robbery....

One of the very best series I saw with the investigation into the perpetrators of a robbery as the subject.
The systematic research work is beautifully explained and how surprising that the team gets a better overview of what is happening than even the perpetrators, who each take a piece for their own account, without asking much, knowing that what they are doing is wrong.
It makes it all super fascinating and easy to follow until the end (Is open for a second season by the way)
A regrettable phenomenon that occurs so often is that here too some high-ranking police officers cannot be exonerated from involvement and corruption.
Good acting and the dialogues are also impressive.
An excellent series.
