IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack plot

On December 24, 1999, an Indian Airlines flight was hijacked. The plane was diverted to Kandahar, which was under Taliban control. The drama takes place in the late 1990s during a routine flight from Kathmandu to New Delhi, which would eventually culminate in a seven-day hostage situation high in the air. Tensions on the plane continue to rise, while negotiators on the ground try to bring the situation to a positive conclusion.
