Damnation plot
Damnation is set in Iowa during the Great Depression. It's 1929 and stock prices are collapsing. The result is a banking crisis and an international debt crisis. A group of farmers in a rural Iowa community are fighting this injustice by going on strike. They do this under the leadership of Seth Davenport. This stranger with a violent past poses as a preacher and wins the trust of the farmers. He incites them to strike, but it doesn't stop there. Soon the inhabitants take up arms to fight the injustice.
